A Britcellist's World

These bloomed on my patio today! June has been a varied month, busy with music, time with Kate and James, walking for our challenge, cats and I going to the vet and doctors. It was time to take the cats for their vaccinations. No problems with the shots, much more difficult getting them into the carriers! Ollie, the white cat also has teeth problems, so that's going to be another palaver.  Then it was my turn. For over a year I have been bothered with blocked ears and head. No pain, but difficulty at times not being to hear easily and slow on memory. No problems from the ENT doctor, no allergies or  MRI.  Finally the endodontist discovered a Chronic Sinus Tract and an abscess above a molar. At the next appointment, after two hours in the chair, the dentist who was trying to do a root canal, said she could only find one nerve where there are supposed to be four, due to an abscess. May has been an up and down month. There's not much change from last year, but little by little there are changes every so often. A week or so ago, I went into a local country store for lunch with friends, not realizing I had left my mask in the car, but the server said if I had had my 2 vaccinations, I didn't need to use the mask! We all had our shots, so our lunch was normal! Today I went into my supermarket which did NOT require a mask! May 1st was a great start to the month - a string quartet session in a screened patio on a warm spring day. What more can one ask for? Following this, was a week of concentration practice on Saint-Saen's  "Danse Bacchanal" for the 14th Covid Cello Project. It was exciting to play, but it took a while to get up to the  tempo Tony the Director, had requested. 145mm to the quarter note is fast for cellists!  April 5,  Our team, "Manada de Lobos" (Wolfpack) completed the virtual Camino de Santiago!      480.9 miles in 66 days! Way to go luvvies! Dan, Maggie, Jennifer and I.                          Our next conquest is to get through the Kruger National Park in South Africa!                       Our virtual Kruger National Park of walking 256 miles is coming along with team                                     "Iphakethe Impisi". March 3. We have a new grocery store in Chapel Hill - Wegmans. It is famous in New York, New Jersey and other northern states, but not in the South. Great excitement for those who knew about the store, to hear one would be coming to Chapel Hill! I waited to the second opening day to check it out, and it is impressive. It's not often on my walks I get so close to birds, but these two Canadian geese were quite comfortable as I took their photograph.  March 6. Thankful to have a granddaughter to help with girly things. Sadly at my age, skin droops, and my left ear lobe was definitely hanging down. What to do?
